Twisting
Application Overview
Twisting is an essential means of giving fiber a certain degree of strength-elongation and a stable appearance. Before twisting, loose fibers generally need to be condensed into a fiber sliver. After twisting, the outer fibers are pressed inward, generating centripetal pressure, which gives the sliver friction along the length direction of the fiber.
For filament tows and plied yarns, twisting can form a tight and stable structure that is not easily destroyed by transverse external forces, making the yarn more durable. The structural form of the resulting yarn becomes more diverse, achieving optimal strength, elongation, elasticity, flexibility, luster and hand feel.
