Trade secrets are the lifeline of an enterprise and an important safeguard for a company competing in the market and maintaining its market position. Strengthening trade secret protection is an inevitable requirement of corporate development and an obligation borne by all employees. To further raise awareness of trade secret protection among employees, especially technical backbones with confidentiality obligations, and to avoid infringement and legal risks, the company held a special training session on trade secret protection and intellectual property layout, under the theme of intellectual property protection, on the morning of 26 April in a second-floor classroom at the new materials plant, ahead of the 25th World Intellectual Property Day. Huang Xiaobing, the company’s intellectual property consultant and patent attorney at Jiangsu Xin Gaode Law Firm, was invited to give the lecture. The XINGI TECH Research Institute as a whole, together with representatives from the R&D Department, the Production Department and its workshops, the Engineering Construction Department, the Electromechanical Operation and Management Department and other departments, attended the training.
Lawyer Huang gave an in-depth presentation on three aspects: legal interpretation of trade secrets, corporate trade secret management and confidentiality systems, and classic cases involving trade secret protection. He advised enterprises to build a four-dimensional protection system for trade secrets—personnel management, carrier management, site management and process management—to establish a risk red-line early warning mechanism, to identify high-risk acts of infringing corporate trade secrets, to draw up compliance checklists for the standardized management of corporate trade secrets and, once a trade secret leak occurs, to launch emergency plans promptly and safeguard their rights. He also shared the trade secret infringement disputes encountered by Huawei and Tencent, using these classic cases to further emphasize the importance of standardized corporate trade secret management. With regard to corporate R&D activities, the training covered intellectual property risk assessment and response during the R&D process and intellectual property layout in R&D, and set out core strategies for such layout.Coinciding with World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April, the training further raised awareness of trade secret protection among R&D staff, workshop managers, technical backbones and other personnel with confidentiality obligations, and greatly helped improve the company’s trade secret management and intellectual property layout capabilities.
