Youth meets the green oasis where the river meets the sea: company Youth League Committee hosts orientation tour for newly recruited university graduates
To help new employees integrate quickly into the company family, gain a first-hand sense of the company’s development momentum and cultural heritage, and deepen their understanding of and affection for Rudong, this land of enterprise, the Company Youth League Committee carefully organized a themed visit and exchange activity on 19 September under the theme “XINGI TECH welcomes young scholars, students pursue their dreams in Rudong.” The event had a rich itinerary and profound content, and achieved complete success.
At eight o’clock in the morning on 19 September, 47 newly recruited university graduates, full of energy, arrived on time at the classroom on the 7th floor of Haixin Building and, under the warm guidance and clear instructions of the Youth League Committee staff, quickly assembled. Youth League Committee Secretary Huang Fei first introduced the day’s activities, filling everyone with anticipation for the day ahead, and then offered advice on the graduates’ future work, asking them to keep their feet on the ground, unite knowledge with action and keep learning as they wrote a new chapter for the company’s future together.
The first stop was the exhibition hall on the 12th floor of the company headquarters. Guided by the detailed commentary of Senior Deputy General Manager Chen Bing, the graduates gained an in-depth understanding of the company’s remarkable development history, cutting-edge business layout, core technological innovation and ambitious strategic planning. Physical models, illustrated display panels and video materials vividly demonstrated the company’s considerable strength and vitality, greatly strengthening their sense of belonging, pride and mission and injecting strong confidence and motivation as they prepared to embark on their new careers.
The group then visited the Rudong Planning Exhibition Hall. There, advanced sound, light and electronic technologies and detailed planning blueprints clearly presented the city’s evolution, functional zoning and future development positioning, especially Rudong County’s important role in the integrated development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta. The past, present and future of this charming city at the confluence of river and sea gave everyone a more intuitive and deeper understanding of its reputation as a “magical oasis,” and a strong appreciation of the company’s strategy of putting down roots here and developing together with the region.
After taking in the city’s grand plan, the group visited Sunshine Island with great interest. Sunshine Island is not a natural island but a stretch of fertile land built up by human labour—a “Great Wall of offshore energy” that the people of Rudong have raised against the vast Yellow Sea. Pipelines crisscross the island like silver veins, and LNG storage tanks stand tall, with tens of millions of tons of liquefied natural gas continuously delivered from here across China. When the graduates learned that the LNG output of the six storage tanks already built on the island accounts for 13 percent of China’s annual natural gas consumption, they could not help exclaiming in amazement. And this was only the beginning: with 16 more LNG storage tanks to be built in the future, their surprise turned to astonishment—and a new item is certain to be added to Rudong’s name card: capital of new energy.
In the afternoon, the event moved on to the industrial practice session. Led by Senior Deputy General Manager Ren Daxian, the group visited the Xiaoyangkou and Dayangkou plants one after another. Introducing the two plants, Mr. Ren said: “Xiaoyangkou is where the XINGI TECH dream began, and Dayangkou is the stage on which XINGI TECH takes off.” From overgrown tidal flats to factory buildings rising in rows; from an initial capacity of 1,600 tons to an annual capacity of nearly 30,000 tons today as an industry leader—XINGI TECH took only 12 years. Yet those 12 years were extraordinary: 12 years in which the whole company strove under the leadership of the Chairman. Seeing the modern production lines in the fiber workshop and the workers’ concentration up close, the graduates felt the vigorous vitality of the company’s manufacturing business, and resolved to carry forward the craftsman’s spirit of “striving for perfection.”
“Sea disco,” a unique project that blends traditional tidal-flat culture with modern tourism development, allowed everyone to experience the boundless vitality of Rudong’s innovation based on its tidal-flat resources while enjoying the cheerful experience of “dancing on the sea.”
On the bus home, the graduates spoke up eagerly, sharing what they had gained and felt during the day. They said that the immersive visit and study had not only helped them quickly learn more about the company and Rudong and dispelled the unfamiliarity of being new arrivals, but had also deeply impressed them with the company’s rich cultural heritage and Rudong’s broad development prospects, leaving them full of anticipation for their future work and life here.
This Youth League Committee event was well organized and substantive. More than a simple activity, it was a profound induction lesson and a lesson in team building. It effectively built a bridge of emotional connection between the new employees, the company and Rudong, inspired their enthusiasm and determination to put down roots in Rudong and dedicate themselves to the company, and laid a solid foundation for the rapid growth and integration of this new force. It is hoped that all the newly recruited graduates will turn what they learned and felt during the event into the driving force for tomorrow and, on the broad platform the company provides, grow together with Rudong, this “magical oasis,” and write their own brilliant chapters.
