Innovation-Driven Growth: XINGI TECH Attends the 2026 CCFA UHMWPE Fiber Branch Annual Meeting and Industry High-Quality Development Forum

On 15–16 September, the 2026 Annual Meeting of the UHMWPE Fiber Branch of the China Chemical Fibers Association (CCFA) and the Industry High-Quality Development Forum were held in Yancheng. Chen Xinwei, President of the China Chemical Fibers Association; Wang Yimin, Professor at Donghua University; Zhou Xinji, Chairman of XINGI TECH Co., Ltd.; and representatives of industrial chain companies, universities and research institutes attended the event.

The branch annual meeting was convened on 15 September. The meeting reviewed and approved the Working Regulations of the UHMWPE Fiber Branch of the China Chemical Fibers Association and put forward a plan for the branch’s leadership transition, under which Zhou Xinji, Chairman of XINGI TECH, would serve as Vice Chairman of the Branch. The plan is to be submitted to the Council for formal approval.

Zhou Xinji, Chairman of XINGI TECH and Chairman of the Branch Committee for the previous term, said in his address that in response to the export challenges currently facing the industry, companies should increase investment in research and development, actively expand application areas and avoid homogeneous, disorderly competition, and he put forward proposals to promote the healthy development of the industry. The head of the unit that will lead the new Branch Committee said that it would earnestly perform its duties, strengthen technical exchanges and work together to break through the bottlenecks constraining the industry, driving the industrial chain toward intelligent, green and efficient development. At the meeting, delegates held in-depth discussions on topics including production and operations, market supply and demand and national policies, product development, process routes, differentiated development, green production and intelligent equipment, jointly exploring a path of high-quality development for the industry.

On 16 September, the Industry High-Quality Development Forum was held. President Chen Xinwei noted that in 2025 China’s output of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber reached about 55,000 tons, accounting for more than 70 percent of global output, and that the material has become key to supporting the development of China’s strategic emerging industries and high-end manufacturing. He said that 2026 is the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, that the industry is at a critical stage of transition from scale expansion to quality and efficiency, and that it should strengthen confidence in development, remain committed to innovation-driven growth, enhance upstream and downstream coordination and accelerate the commercialization of innovation outcomes. During the keynote presentation session, Niu Yanfeng, Deputy General Manager of XINGI TECH, delivered a report titled “R&D Progress and Innovative Applications of UHMWPE Fiber”. He presented the company’s progress in research, development and industrialization in areas such as UV resistance and low creep, high-temperature modification, melt spinning processes and high surface activity; analyzed the opportunities and challenges in application fields including high-end manufacturing, safety protection, marine engineering, new energy, healthcare, robotics and the low-altitude economy; and suggested that the industry strengthen innovation in and domestic production of high-end raw materials, advance the upgrading of equipment toward precision, intelligence and customization, develop green and efficient spinning technologies and establish a closed-loop recycling system. Experts from universities and institutes including Donghua University and the East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, as well as from industrial chain companies, gave presentations on topics such as process technology routes, deep-sea aquaculture equipment, individual soldier protection, robotic tendon ropes, and ropes and cables for ships and marine engineering. After the meeting, delegates visited Jiangsu Shenhe Technology to observe its equipment workshop and its laboratory, pilot and industrialization test lines.

President Chen Xinwei affirmed the results of the Branch’s work and expressed the hope that the Branch would operate in a standardized manner and play a leading role in the industry, and that companies in the industry would build up their own capabilities and pursue collaborative innovation so as to jointly drive the UHMWPE fiber industry toward a stage of high-quality and sustainable development.
As a vice chairman unit of the Branch, XINGI TECH will continue to support the work of the association, keep focusing on breakthroughs in core technologies for high-performance fibers and deepen industry-academia-research and industrial chain cooperation, contributing to the high-quality development of the industry.
