On August 16-17, the annual meeting of the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) Fiber Branch of the China Chemical Fibers Association and the Industry High-Quality Development Forum were held in Rudong, Jiangsu. The event was hosted by the China Chemical Fibers Association and organized by the Rudong County People’s Government, XINGI TECH Co., Ltd., and the UHMWPE Fiber Branch of the China Chemical Fibers Association. Mr. Zhou Xinji, Chairman of XINGI TECH, attended the conference, witnessed the signing ceremony for the Joint Research Center for Advanced Fiber Composites between XINGI TECH and South China University of Technology, and unveiled on site the “Joint Research Center for Advanced Fiber Composites” and the “XINGI TECH Research Institute”. In addition, the “UHMWPE Fiber R&D and Production Base” jointly established by the China Chemical Fibers Association and XINGI TECH was officially inaugurated. Mr. Zhou Shudong, Executive Deputy General Manager of XINGI TECH, delivered a keynote report at the conference.
The conference invited four distinguished guests: Gan Yong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the National Expert Advisory Committee on the Development of the New Materials Industry; Zhang Liqun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of South China University of Technology; Qu Jinping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor at South China University of Technology and Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Zhu Meifang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of the College of Materials Science and Engineering at Donghua University. Also present were Chen Xinwei, President of the China Chemical Fibers Association; He Yanli, former Inspector of the Department of Industry of the National Development and Reform Commission (DRC) and former Vice President of the China Chemical Fibers Association; Chen Lei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Rudong County Committee and County Mayor; Shao Feng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Rudong County Committee and Secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Yangkougang Economic Development Zone; Cai Dong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Rudong County Committee, Deputy County Mayor and Secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Rudong Economic Development Zone, and other guests. More than 300 industry representatives from enterprises along the UHMWPE fiber upstream and downstream industrial chain, universities and research institutes in China also attended the meeting.
On the afternoon of August 16, the UHMWPE Fiber Branch of the China Chemical Fibers Association held a closed-door meeting attended by major fiber production and application enterprises, and after the meeting the participants toured XINGI TECH Co., Ltd. At 9 a.m. on August 17, the conference officially opened, and speeches were delivered in turn by Gan Yong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the National Expert Advisory Committee on the Development of the New Materials Industry; Zhang Liqun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of South China University of Technology; Zhu Meifang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of the College of Materials Science and Engineering at Donghua University; and Chen Lei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Rudong County Committee and County Mayor, delivered speeches in turn. Subsequently, keynote reports were delivered in turn by Qu Jinping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor at South China University of Technology and Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Wang Yimin, Professor at Donghua University; Ma Tian, Director of the Quartermaster Engineering Technology Research Institute of the Systems Engineering Research Institute; Guo Zixian, Chairman of Jiangsu Shenhe Technology Development Co., Ltd.; and Zhou Shudong, Executive Deputy General Manager of XINGI TECH Co., Ltd. Finally, the conference held the signing and unveiling ceremony for the “XINGI TECH Co., Ltd. – South China University of Technology Joint Research Center for Advanced Fiber Composites”, the unveiling of the “XINGI TECH Research Institute”, and the award ceremony for the “UHMWPE Fiber R&D and Production Base”; on the afternoon of 17, Lyu Jiabin, Vice President of the China Chemical Fibers Association; Liu Ting, Director of the Technology Department of Beijing Punuotai New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.; Shi Jiangao, Researcher at the East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences; Yu Jiangtao, Professor at Tongji University; and Yu Kejing, Professor at Jiangnan University delivered keynote reports in turn.
