From July 17 to 28, 2023, led by Professor Huang Guosheng, Director of the Institute of Applied Chemistry at Lanzhou University, 43 undergraduates majoring in applied chemistry and functional materials at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University came to the Coastal Economic Development Zone for internship training, 15 of whom interned at the company for two weeks. The program was an initiative organized by the Administrative Committee of the Coastal Economic Development Zone to attract outside talent and meet the recruitment needs of park enterprises for high-level personnel.
Lanzhou University is a national key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education and a key university under the national “Project 985” and “Project 211” programs, and its students are of generally high quality. During the internship, the Human Resources Department briefed the students in detail on the company’s profile, its talent needs, employee benefits and future development plans, and led them on a tour of the Xiaoyangkou plant area and the construction site of the Yangkougang project (at the request of the teachers and students, the 28 students interning at two other companies joined the visit). The students expressed sincere admiration for the company’s products and its achievements in niche markets. The 15 undergraduates interned successively in the production workshops and the quality inspection department, learning about the actual operation of production as well as the product quality management system covering raw materials, in-process control, finished product analysis and system operation. The departments concerned attached great importance to the program and their principals coordinated it personally; the Safety and Environmental Protection Department provided the students with prior training on safety requirements in the production area, and the Party and Government Office also arranged student meals to a high standard. With the close cooperation and concerted efforts of the relevant departments, the internship concluded successfully on July 28.
