National Manufacturing Single Champion Product Accelerates Toward Full Production: XINGI TECH Adds RMB 400 Million in Taxable Sales This Year

At two o’clock in the morning on the 20th, at XINGI TECH Co., Ltd. in Yangkou Town (the Coastal Economic Development Zone of Rudong County), two production lines kept turning out ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber, and the workshop erupted in joy. Over the past year, Xia Jianhua, Senior Advisor of XINGI TECH Co., Ltd., who had devoted himself to the project frontline resolving bottleneck problems, told reporters: “With this expansion project, which represents a total investment of RMB 1 billion, completed and put into production, the company will add RMB 400 million in sales revenue this year, becoming an economic growth point for Rudong’s UHMWPE fiber industry as it heads toward the RMB 10 billion club.”

The UHMWPE fiber for which XINGI TECH owns independent intellectual property rights was rated in the sixth batch of Manufacturing Single Champions by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Though it is as fine as a human hair, it is 15 times stronger than steel and offers such advantages as cut resistance, impact resistance and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in military, civilian and construction fields and exported to 17 countries. After three phases of expansion its capacity ranks first in the world, yet demand still exceeds supply. Early last year the company launched a new project with an annual output of 5,280 tons of UHMWPE fiber; Yangkou Town’s dedicated service team assisted on the frontline throughout, from approval to infrastructure construction, and the 40,000-square-meter plant was delivered ahead of schedule. It is worth noting that core equipment used in the expansion project, such as extraction and solvent separation units, was designed, machined and installed by XINGI TECH’s own technical team, and the company holds independent intellectual property rights and invention patents for it, filling a gap in the industry.

At two o’clock in the afternoon on the 19th, the Phase IV expansion project began feeding materials, and bag after bag of UHMWPE powder was processed through intelligent batching, spinning, pre-drawing, extraction and other procedures into internationally top-tier products. Ren Daxian, Deputy General Manager of XINGI TECH Co., Ltd., told reporters cheerfully: “The expansion project has added 16 production lines in two workshops; eight lines will reach mass production by the end of February, and the eight lines in the west workshop will all reach mass production by the end of March.”

In the spacious 20,000-square-meter workshop of the new west building, which stands 15 meters high, the arc light of welding equipment flickered everywhere. Some workers were moving extraction tanks, others installing drying ovens and air ducts, all working briskly and energetically. These equipment installers ate and slept at the plant, working from 7:30 in the morning until 7:30 in the evening, with only half an hour for lunch and a break — racing against time to speed up installation and hitting the “fast track” to full production.
