To carry forward the traditional culture of the Chinese nation and enrich the company’s New Era Civilization Practice activities, the company’s trade union recently organized employees in a traditional cultural experience activity of making zongzi for the Dragon Boat Festival.
In the canteen, staff laid out neatly well in advance the materials needed for making zongzi: soaked glutinous rice, washed reed leaves, and prepared candied dates and braised pork. Invited zongzi-making experts and eager novices sat together as the experts passed on their techniques. The experts worked deftly, their hands moving quickly as they folded and overlapped the reed leaves into a funnel shape, filled them with glutinous rice and pressed it down, wrapped the leaves once around the funnel and then tied them tight with string, so that a zongzi took shape in no time. The novices followed suit; although they were a little flustered at first, they produced presentable zongzi after a few practice runs. Through everyone’s careful handiwork, zongzi of all shapes and sizes were piled up in abundance. The canteen then boiled them all together and distributed them to the plants at the Jugang headquarters, Xiaoyangkou and the Yangkougang Economic Development Zone, where they were handed out free of charge to on-duty employees along with their meals.
The activity vividly showcased the unique charm of the traditional culture of the Chinese nation and also provided a good opportunity for the company’s employees to communicate and collaborate. In the future, the XINGI TECH trade union will continue to carry out a rich variety of activities, steadily enhancing employees’ sense of happiness and satisfaction, jointly fostering a harmonious atmosphere and building a fine corporate home.
