On October 29-30, the October session of XINGI TECH’s “Star Power” Program training class was held as scheduled. Professor Yu Junrong, a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Donghua University, was specially invited to give the lecture, titled Forming, Processing and Applications of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) Fiber. Company leaders and mid-level managers and technical staff from R&D, quality inspection, production, engineering and other departments attended as observers.
Professor Yu has won one second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, five first prizes for scientific and technological progress at provincial and ministerial level, and seven other awards, and has deep academic attainments and rich practical experience in the field of materials. Professor Yu first introduced the origin of UHMWPE fiber, its main preparation methods, and the progress and current state of its industrialization, and then, combining years of research and practical experience, gave a detailed explanation of the theory and practice of UHMWPE fiber in terms of forming and processing, structure and properties, modification and applications. After the lecture, Professor Yu also answered one by one the dozens of technical questions raised by the trainees and technical staff.
During the break, Ren Daxian, Senior Deputy General Manager of the company, exchanged views on technical matters with Professor Yu, and after the lecture many trainees took the initiative to consult Professor Yu about problems encountered in daily production. This session was highly consistent with the company’s actual production of fibers and fiber products, giving all trainees a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of UHMWPE fiber; the observers also showed great interest in learning from the lecture and said afterwards that they had gained a great deal and wanted more. In the future, the Human Resources Department will regularly organize similar training so that managers and technical staff truly understand fiber preparation processes and the relevant principles, effectively organize production and R&D, and further improve the company’s production and R&D level.
