Recently, Mr. Zhou Xinji, Chairman of XINGI TECH Co., Ltd., led a delegation to the iHarbour campus of Xi’an Jiaotong University at its invitation for a study visit. The visit aimed to deepen university-enterprise cooperation, explore new models of integrating industry, academia and research, and jointly promote innovation and development in new materials and other fields.
In the Xi’an Jiaotong University exhibition hall, Zhang Wenxue, Deputy Director of the Party Committee and University Office and Director of the University-Local Cooperation Office of Xi’an Jiaotong University, personally recounted the university’s long history and outstanding achievements to the XINGI TECH delegation. He noted in particular that several state leaders had visited Xi’an Jiaotong University and delivered important speeches, giving high praise and earnest expectations for the university’s development. Director Zhang Wenxue also gave a detailed introduction to the “6352” and “1121” programs developed by Xi’an Jiaotong University; these new models of integrating industry, academia and research not only won the recognition and praise of state leaders but also laid a solid foundation for the university’s scientific and technological innovation and talent development.
In his account, Director Zhang Wenxue mentioned the Westward Migration Spirit several times, stressing that it is an inexhaustible driving force for the university’s development. He noted that, as General Secretary Xi Jinping put it, the core of the Westward Migration Spirit is patriotism and its essence is following the Party’s command and the Party’s lead, sharing the same breath and destiny with the Party and the country, and with the nation and the people. This spirit has inspired generation after generation of Xi’an Jiaotong University members to take root in western China and serve the country, and it also provides valuable spiritual wealth for cooperation between XINGI TECH and Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Afterwards, led by Chen Fei, Vice Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University, the XINGI TECH delegation visited the school’s State Key Laboratory. Vice Dean Chen Fei gave a detailed introduction to the laboratory’s research results and frontier layout in the field of new material fiber composites. The two sides held in-depth exchanges and discussions on modification technologies at the raw material end of UHMWPE fiber, particularly in the biodegradable and high-temperature-resistant directions.
In the iHarbour Central Building, Zhang Liqun, President of Xi’an Jiaotong University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, warmly received the XINGI TECH delegation. In his welcome address, President Zhang introduced the university’s distinctive disciplines and its innovative models of university-enterprise cooperation, and also spoke with feeling about the national commitment and sense of mission behind the Westward Migration Spirit. He said that Xi’an Jiaotong University has always been oriented to the country’s needs and is committed to cultivating high-quality talent with an innovative spirit and practical ability. He also expressed his earnest hope to strengthen all-round, in-depth university-enterprise cooperation with XINGI TECH and to jointly promote technological innovation and industrial development in new materials and other fields.
In response, Chairman Zhou Xinji, on behalf of the company, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Xi’an Jiaotong University for its thoughtful arrangements and warm reception during the visit. He then shared three deep impressions from the visit:
First, Chairman Zhou Xinji highly praised Xi’an Jiaotong University’s notable strengths in academic research and educational resources, and said the visit had given him a deep appreciation of the important role these strengths play in advancing scientific and technological progress and talent development.
Second, Chairman Zhou Xinji strongly agreed on the importance and necessity of deep technical cooperation between the company and Xi’an Jiaotong University, especially in the field of new materials. He firmly believes that through close cooperation the two sides can jointly overcome technical challenges, promote the innovation and application of new materials technology, and inject new vitality into the development of the industry.
Finally, Chairman Zhou Xinji highlighted the key importance of attracting and cultivating talent. Taking the establishment of the Nantong Research Institute of Xi’an Jiaotong University as an opportunity, he proposed the idea of establishing a mechanism for jointly cultivating and motivating innovative talent. He believes that the implementation of this mechanism can effectively attract and retain outstanding talent and provide solid talent support for the company’s sustainable development.
This visit not only deepened mutual understanding and trust between XINGI TECH and Xi’an Jiaotong University but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two sides. Guided by the Westward Migration Spirit, XINGI TECH and Xi’an Jiaotong University will, with a more open attitude and more pragmatic action, jointly explore new models and new paths of industry-academia-research cooperation, contributing new and greater strength to the industry’s technological progress and high-quality upgrading.
